What actually decides whether it works
Price is the easy part. These are the points that decide whether your guards are equipped, your sites are covered and your business is legal.
Register with PSIRA before you trade
A security business and every security officer must be registered with the Private Security Industry Regulatory Authority before they can provide security services. We supply the equipment; the registration is yours, and it comes first.
Equip guards, sites and control room together
A new security company needs uniforms, radios, torches and patrol systems for the guards, alarms and huts for the sites, and screens, consoles and backup power for the control room. We quote it as one package so nothing is missing on day one.
Radios need approval and a licence
Two-way radios sold here need ICASA type approval, and the frequencies you use need a licence. We confirm the model's approval before quoting; the frequency licence is yours to arrange.
A control room must survive load-shedding
Screens, receivers and radios in a control room run all day and night, and must keep running through a power cut. Specify 24/7-rated screens and size the UPS and backup power with the room.
No firearms, ammunition or weapons
Firearms and ammunition are controlled under their own legislation and licensing, and we do not supply them, or weapons of any kind. We keep to equipment that protects people and property without that.
You're trading the dealer network for the price
That's the honest trade. There is no branded service agent on call. Keep spare radio batteries, chargers and body-cam units, buy on common platforms your installer knows, and have an alarm technician on call.

I'm starting a security company. What do I need first?
PSIRA registration for the business and your officers comes first. Then uniforms, radios, torches and a guard tour system for the guards, and alarms, a control room and response equipment as you grow. Tell us your guard numbers and services and we quote a start-up package.
Do you supply firearms or weapons?
No. Firearms and ammunition are controlled under their own licensing, and we do not supply them or any weapons.
Are your two-way radios legal to use?
They must be ICASA type approved, and you need a licence for the frequencies. We confirm the model's approval before quoting.
Do you install alarms and control rooms?
No. We supply the equipment; installation is by a local alarm installer or technician. For a control room, we can quote the equipment to your installer's design.
